Miriam McHenry joined The Advocates in 2016 as a search consultant and the founding member of the Houston office. She focuses on providing outstanding representation of client law firms and attorneys seeking new opportunities. Her entrepreneurial background and her ability to connect people with the right opportunity allow her to offer candidates valuable insight and perspective.
Miriam began her career as a small business owner and transitioned into the executive ranks of law firm management as the Director of Marketing, Recruiting and Professional Development for a national oil and gas law firm. Her broad business management and legal recruiting experience have been shaped by 20+ years of experience in marketing, hiring and coaching, PR, and project and event management.
Miriam graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Broadcast Journalism, where she worked her way through school as a legislative aide in the Texas House of Representatives, and later as the Texas House Reporter for a legislative reporting service. She also served as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Charlie Wilson.
Miriam grew up in Liberty, Texas and resides in Houston with her husband. She spends her time on their ranch in Liberty County and volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She is also a long-time member of the Foundation Board of the Houston Council on Recovery.
